New Terrorism and Extremism book series from I.B.Tauris and TERC

I.B.Tauris and the Terrorism and Extremism Research Centre (TERC) at the University of East London are pleased to announce the launch of a new book series – Terrorism and Extremism Studies. 

The series will comprise cutting-edge scholarship in the areas of international terrorism and extremism studies from authors based at UEL and at other universities. Reflecting TERC’s own expertise, the series will be interdisciplinary and will encompass politics and international relations, law and criminology, education, psychology, human rights, post-conflict studies and other related disciplines. 

The series editors are Dr John F. Morrison, Founding Director of TERC and Reader in Criminology and Criminal Justice; Professor Andrew Silke, Head of Criminology and Programme Director for Terrorism Studies and Dr Anthony Richards, Reader in Criminology and Programme Leader for Criminology and Criminal Justice, all at UEL.

John F. Morrison, series editor and Director of TERC said: ‘We are excited to be launching the Terrorism and Extremism Studies book series with I.B.Tauris. i believe that this new series will provide an avenue for established, and new, researchers of terrorism and extremism to share the most innovative research with a broad audience. For our understanding of terrorism and extremism to advance we must analyse it from a variety of perspectives. Therefore this new series will aim to promote research in these areas from a variety of disciplines.’

Jo Godfrey, Senior Editor at I.B.Tauris said ‘We are thrilled to be partnering with TERC on this new series which will push the boundaries of current academic research in this important and fast-moving field. In the short time that the centre has been established it has already gained a reputation as one of the leading international centres for terrorism and extremism studies and this new series will build upon the centre’s deep engagement in this area to promote new interdisciplinary ways of studying the subject.’

The series will be published by I.B.Tauris in association with TERC and will comprise academic monographs and edited collections as well as books aimed at practitioners, policy-makers and general readers.

Established in October 2015, the Terrorism and Extremism Research Centre (TERC) at the University of East London is an inter-disciplinary research centre which carries out methodologically rigorous research on terrorism and extremism. The research analyses both the act of terrorism itself and the motivations and rationale of the terrorist actor. Parallel to this the Centre also critically examines counter-terrorist policies, tactics and strategies.
